THE NOTION OF SOCIAL REALITY:
The main theoretical models of social reality in social psychology and social science in general are presented (Festinger, Moscovici, Berger and Luckmann, ...) and the characteristic phenomena and of social reality are explained.

SOCIAL REALITY AND SOCIAL INFLUENCE:
The relationship between the structure and dynamics of social reality and the phenomena of social influence, social motivation and the working of the self-process is explained.

THE EPISTEMOLOGY OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY:
The issue of social reality is linked with the epistemology of social psychology and science in general. Three viable epistemological positions in social psychology are presented: the nomothetic positin (classical experimentally oriented social psychology), the hermeneutic position (social constructionism), and the transformative position (phenomenologically oriented social psychology).
