The double-subject study programmes provide knowledge and competences in two disciplines. Students do not only follow the individual goals of the two selected subjects but are also able to relate the acquired knowledge to other fields. The transfer of knowledge from one subject to the other encourages its flexible use in various situations. The double-subject programmes promote intra- and interdisciplinary transmission of knowledge, methodologies, specialist methods, approaches and processes.
The aim of the double-subject programmes is to provide undergraduates with new competences that stem from understanding and relating various aspects of subject-specific knowledge. The wider social goals include better employability, which is based on students’ proficiency in two specialist fields. The undergraduates’ ability to solve problems from an interdisciplinary perspective improves their position on the labour market.
