About the Department

The Department of English is a unit of the Faculty of Arts; our students can study English Language and Literature, both as a pedagogic or non-pedagogic subject. The BA study programmes provide for intensive three-year fundamental studies in the English language, in cultures and literatures of English-speaking communities, as well as in intercultural English communication abilities required for various activities involving interlingual and intercultural communication. In addition, graduates are qualified to continue their studies, i.e. to further develop their knowledge at the 2nd level of study, where they can enrol in the new pedagogic or non-pedagogic programmes. The MA study programmes (single-subject, double-subject, pedagogical and non-pedagogical study programmes) started in the academic year 2012-2013.
